Atanas MLUKI, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Afrilife Products Limited, Tanzania

Atanas L.Mluki is the founder and chief executive officer of Afrilife Products Limited. He was born in 1975 in Kabiala village, Tabora municipal a famous traditional bee keeping area in western Tanzania. He learnt and practiced the basics of beekeeping from his parents and fellow villagers from early childhood. From 1983 to 1989 he got his primary school education in his home village before proceeding with  secondary education to advanced level in Morogoro town from 1999 to 2005. With the aim to help bee keepers in his home area to shift from traditional log beehives into modern bee hives, he joined Nangwa Vocational Training college were he was awarded Grade II certificate in carpentry. From 2005 to 2007 after undergoing additional training in forest conservation, he worked with Relief to Development Society at Lugufu Refugee camp to train refugees from DRC in carpentry and forest conservation. In 2007 he joined Forever Living Products of America, a nutritional and bee products international company as a member of its marketing team where he rose to the position of marketing manager. He has attended several seminars and trainings on entrepreneurship and bee products processing conducted to SME’s  by SIDO (Small Industries Development Organisation) in Tanzania In 2013, he co-founded Afrilife Products Ltd, a company with a mission to empower traditional beekeepers economically and technically by promoting biodiversity through sustainable bee keeping. He is a certified team leader of Afrilife HACCP team, an international food processing quality assurance procedure certification currently held by only two persons in Tanzania. In 2015 he represented Afrilife and the country to attend the International Apimondia (an international bee keepers and stakeholders organisation) held in Arusha Tanzania. In 2016 he was selected by Tanzania Honey Council to represent Tanzania to attend a seminar on sustainable bee keeping in India. He is the CEO of Afrilife, a company recognized for production of a leading brand of bee honey in Tanzania.
