Eric BIRLOUEZ, Agricultural Engineer and Sociologist
Eric Birlouez is an agricultural engineer by training (graduated from "l'Agro" in Paris) and sociologist. For 25 years, he has worked as an independent consultant with public bodies and companies, mainly in the agriculture and food sectors. At the same time as this study and consultancy activity, Eric Birlouez teaches the History and Sociology of Food within Engineering Schools and Universities, in France (ISA Lille and University of Lille, AgroParisTech…) and abroad (Lebanon, Romania, China, etc.). He also works with the ABIES doctoral school (Paris) to support and train young researchers (project management methodology, scientific communication, professional integration, etc.). Eric Birlouez is also an author and speaker. He has published numerous books and articles on food and food, exploring its cultural, social, historical and symbolic dimensions.
