Hervé Lapie is a 50-year-old farmer (135 hectares) and pig breeder (breeder-fattener) at La Cheppe, near Châlons-en-Champagne, in partnership with his brother and a neighbour. The farm employs 2 employees through a group of employers. He has been President of the FDSEA of the Marne department since 2014, President of the FRSEA Grand Est and a member of the FNSEA Board since 2017. He also chairs CAF Marne. Before becoming President of the FDSEA of the Marne department, he was involved in his local levels and the Groupement Foncier Agricole Mutuel (GFAM) of the Suippes region, of which he is co-manager. This grouping concerns 350 hectares and 29 farmers. Together with other actors in the Champagne-Ardenne region, he created the organization "Symbiose pour des paysages de biodiversité". This organization, of which he is president, aims to promote territorial projects in favor of biodiversity. He is also president of CGAVAC (Centre de Gestion Agricole et Viticole Agréé de la Champagne) and director of the CIRHYO pig cooperative.
