Christiane Lambert, FNSEA President
Coming from Massiac (Cantal), Christiane Lambert is the daughter of farmers. After getting her technician certificate (2 year-diploma in agricultural techniques ad company management), she runs a few hectares on her own in Massiac with a dairy herd and forty sows.
In 1989, with her husband she took over the pig farming of her parents-in-law at Bouillé-Ménard in Maine-et-Loire, and continues this work simultaneously to her union activities. Aged 20, she gets involved in the union of Young Farmers and passes all the regional levels: in 1981 president of cantonal center and vice-president of county center, in 1984 vice-president of the regional Center of young farmers in Auvergne, then president two years later. From the young farmers, in 2001 she joins the county Federation of farmers’ unions of Maine-et-Loire for which she is president until 2018 and in 2005 the office of the national Federation of farmers’ unions (FNSEA) as a member.
After the unexpected death of President Xavier Beulin in 2017, she is interim president, then elected to the presidency of FNSEA, she is the first woman to occupy this post.
