Rottner Jean, President, Grand Est Region
Jean Rottner has been the President of Grand Est Region since 20th October 2017. Before his election as president of Grand Est Region, Jean ROTTNER was its vice-president, in charge of the competitiveness of territories and digital. So, he co-presided the commission «economic development innovation and digital ». Substitute Deputy of the 5th district of Haut-Rhin from 2002 to 2012, Jean ROTTNER was elected First Deputy Mayor in 2008 before being elected in 2010 after Jean-Marie BOCKEL’s resignation and in 2014 during the municipal elections. Today he is First Deputy again. He is also community adviser at Mulhouse Alsace urban community. Within his functions of Mulhouse Mayor, he was elected president of the Federation of urban-planning agencies (FNAU) in September 2014. Jean ROTTNER is also Vice-President of France Urbaine Association. Born in 1967 and doctor of medicine, he was emergency practitioner at Mulhouse Hospital (1997-2005) before running the pole of emergency medicine from 2005 to 2009. Within his political group, les Républicains (ex-UMP), Jean Rottner is the national secretary in charge of local elected officials.
