Silke Schwedes, Advisor on “soil protection, fight against desertification and sustainable land management, GIZ. She holds a Master degree in Landscape Ecology and completed a post-graduation in Rural Development. She is specialised in land use planning and sustainable natural resources management and has more than 18 years of working experience in the field of international development cooperation in Africa and Latin America. She currently works for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) sector project on “soil protection, fight against desertification and sustainable land management”, with emphasis on ecosystem services valuation, scaling-up of sustainable land management practices and capacity building in the West African context.
